An Arbitrary Line

I had to pick an arbitrary line to separate Central Europe from Eastern Europe. At present this line isn’t fixed in my mind. A part of that is a relative dearth of trips. I haven’t cached in Germany enough to wearrent a whole page for that. I have a trip planned in September 2026 to Austria, and I’m probably calling that “Central”.

For those of a certain age, Eastern Europe is synonymous with the former Communist Bloc. That has long since disappeared, but in the interests of making a decision, I have elected to put the boundary between Central and Eastern Europe (at least in the northern area), along the Oder-Neisse Line. So Poland and everywhere east of it is going to be in my Eastern Europe section.

And that explains why we are here.

Activities

So somewhere back at the plot, I’ve broken my proverbial duck. So here is my list of Eastern European trips:

  • In July 2026 I went to Krakow

Individual Posts

Apart from that, there’s not a lot I can say about Eastern Europe other than it’s an area I haven’t travelled through much as a geocacher, and that I fully intend to rectify that situation at some point.
