Objectives
So here is my caching diary for 2024.
2024 got off to a very slow start for me. Mainly, I spent the first few weekends of the year painting the lounge. And then I had some further weekends of “meh” before finally getting my act in gear in the middle of March.
There were some epic trips, including weekends in Edinburgh and Moffat plus a whole week in Copenhagen. And, of course, a family holiday in France.
I didn’t get to go the the UK Mega in Sussex because we were still in France. And because of that, I also didn’t go to Piratemania in 2024. In fact, no megas at all, for the first time in a while.

Summary
So there we have it, my 2024 Caching Diary. So what did I actually achieve:
- A total of 2,789 finds – My second best (after 2022)
- Three new countries – Denmark, Sweden and Monaco
- A new personal best of 588 at the Notts Labcache Pool
- 24 days ticked off my Shifty Fifty Challenge
- 6 days of more than 100 finds
So, plenty of monster days out, lots of new places and a few days ticked off the Shifty-Fifty Challenge. Not too shabby.
I took the opportunity to visit lots of new countries for the first time in a while, and also visited some parts of the UK where I’d never cached before other than skimming past.
2025 might be a bit weird for me. Time will tell.
