My Manor

As you would expect with me being British, the vast majority of my posts are for geocaching trips made in the United Kingdom. Well, it’s easy for me to get there, innit?

Anyway, I could give you a page of individual posts just containing trips in the UK, but that would be a bit pointless, to be honest. It’s mainly the same as the Home Page most of the time, apart from when I’ve been caching on holiday. So I’ve chosen here to show you the UK Regions. Each contains a list of posts for that region (funnily enough).

The Statistics

Statistics don’t lie. People who misinterpret statistics deliberately are the liers. But that’s enough commentary on world geopolitics. My statistics shows that approximately 88% of my finds were made in the UK. It’s still impressive, I guess, that 12% of them are outside the UK, given the amount of time during the kids’ younger years where we didn’t travel much. But back at the plot,

The Geography

The eagle-eyed amongst you will notice that my list of regions is not quite the same as Geocaching.com’s list. Why? Well, they split Scotland and Wales into multiple regions. I haven’t. Not out of spite or disinterest though. It’s just because Scotland and Wales (and the South-West of England, to some extent) are the furthest bits away from where I live. So I haven’t been to them much. Certainly not enough to warrant showing a difference between North and South Wales, or Northern and Southern Scotland. On that subject, all of them are great, by the way, on the few times I’ve been.

So you have regional groupings on here for each English region, and then a mega-post for Scotland and another for Wales. A few trips further afield in my old age might mean I eventually can justify splitting into the official Geocaching.com regions, but not right now.

And anyway, the way I’ve done it means there are 12 regions to show. That fits neatly into a 3×4 grid. Which looks better than having incomplete rows. I have to live with that on the individual pages, but not here. Oh no!
