The Second Year

A caching diary for 2011, my second year. The first didn’t involve a huge amount of caching. In 2011 the game stepped up a bit. Not a lot, but a bit.

It was the first year I started taking days out, as in, going off somewhere for a whole day just to go geocaching. This was kind of welcome, because on a personal level it was a year when we weren’t flush with cash, and as a result we didn’t really take any holidays. Certainly none overseas. Just a few that were “staycations” with family, as I remember.

Having said that, my job at the time involved a couple of business trips to India, and hence it became a fairly unlikely fourth country to have made a find, in addition to Morocco, UK and France.

Back at the plot, 2011 yielded 731 finds in total.

Monthly Statistics

  • January – 57 finds
  • February – 80 finds
  • March – 40 finds
  • April – 68 finds
  • May – 37 finds
  • June – 67 finds
  • July – 59 finds
  • August – 43 finds
  • September – 112 finds
  • October – 61 finds
  • November – 51 finds
  • December – 56 finds

Summary

So there we have it, my 2011 Caching Diary. So what did I actually achieve:

  • A total of 731 finds
  • 100 days ticked off the “days found” list
  • No days ticked off my Shifty Fifty Challenge, yet
  • 1 new country – India

That’s a good continuation from last year’s start. I was still finding my feet as a geocacher. The world of statistics and challenges had yet to arrive on my doorstep. I was starting to get into the swing of it, and starting to gain the confidence to go out on bigger days.
