Kendal and Lancaster
Exploring both Kendal and Lancaster as part of my journey home. I was in no rush. I'd never been to either of them before.

A scenic adventure along the lovely Cumbrian Coast on my way to Southern Scotland. I've been to Cumbria many times, but never to this bit.
Barf is a moderately sized hill at Whinlatter with a very entertaining name and a spectacular view from the top.
A mixed bag of activities today, with me and Ami opting for descending into an old quarry and then climbing up Holme Fell
Langdale Pikes, on the north side of, well, Great Langdale. I've been up here more times than a few.
An afternoon spent legging it up Helm Crag and Gibson Knott - two relatively moderate-sized fells above Grasmere.
A day trip from Ambleside to the National Trust property at Wray Castle, on the western shore of Lake Windermere.
Our first attempt at climbing a Wainwright on this holiday - Baystones is a moderately-sized hill accessible from Ambleside.
A wander through Borrowdale, supposedly the wettest place in England. We were planning to sit in a river, so "wet" was on the cards whatever.
Our first day in Grasmere, including splitting up and meeting together, with some hill walking, some history, some geology and some religion.
Adding Helvellyn to my list of large British mountains I've climbed and seen nothing from the top. It seemed OK when we set off.
A walk that started as a leisurely stroll over Loughrigg, but then grew arms and legs and took on a life of its own. A small hill, but rather spread out.
