Southern England

Southern England is probably the busiest area for my geocaching exploits by virtue of the fact that I lived there.

According to the Geocaching view of the world, Southern England consists of the ceremonial counties of:

That’s a pretty diverse bunch, to be honest, covering a significant population and a diverse range of landscapes. Diverse enough that they probably have no place being put together. It also always feels to me like it’s just a convenient title used to avoid having England transition straight from the South-East to the South-West.

But enough of that.

For the majority of my geocaching life I lived in Milton Keynes, which is now an English city. It is, and has always been, a county too. When it was separated from Buckinghamshire it was established as the new town and county of Milton Keynes. So most of my posts will be about the Milton Keynes area (i.e. places you can get to in an hour or so from there. The second busiest area is probably Eastern England, mainly because it begins just over the border in Bedfordshire, and much of it is within my 90 minute driving window.
