Fast Cars, Big Hills, and Damaged Livers
I took a trip up to the Lake District with “The Lads” in November of 2018. It was one of our now legendary (maybe) boys weekends, where we generally drinking too much, play board games, drive around a bit, and do at least one long and challenging walk.
Travelling and Staying
For this trip we stayed at the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel in Great Langdale. The relatively remote location meant we didn’t go out much in the evenings. To be honest, on a three-night stay we didn’t really need to venture out at night. The hotel restaurant was more than good enough.
We had a leisurely drive up that involved lunch in the Peak District and then a hefty delay as we drove around Manchester at 5pm on a Friday night.
Once we were there, we had a monster walking day on the Langdale Pikes, followed by a slightly less taxing one at Derwent Water.
