Alps

Serre Chevalier is a French ski resort. In fact, I've been there twice to ski. But it's nice in summer too.

Vizille is a small town to the south of Grenoble that houses a museum of the French Revolution inside a massive castle. We went for a visit.

A day spend wandering around the city of Grenoble, including using the famous "bubbles" to get to the top of the Bastille.

Grenoble isn't the most well known place for tourists in France, but I had the inside track. I'd been before when I was a kid.

A slow start while Kas went for a long run in the morning. We went for a short walk at the Col des Montets in the afternoon.

Today was that traditional day in each holiday where we didn't really do much. We didn't do it in Chamonix.

Not quite as planned, but a fun packed day of mountains, glaciers, thunderstorms and indifferent public servants.

A day of ups and downs. Chamonix is a living geography lesson. It's the one where the teacher was talking about U-shaped valleys.

Aiguille du Midi is a scarily tall looking mountain that overlooks Chamonix. Thankfully, the resident Bond villain was out.

Starting from the home of champagne we made a run to the hills, specifically to Chamonix, the home of the Winter Olympics.
